– Proclamation of The Sussex Charter – Town Crier
– The Mayor – including 3 cheers for the people & county of Sussex (introduced by Arabella)
– Excerpt from “The South Country” by Hillaire Belloc, read by Cllr John Breeds
– Excerpt from “Sussex Won’t Be Druv” by W Victor Cooke – read by Paul Goring
– The Rector – the prayer of St Richard of Chichester, Patron Saint of Sussex, & a blessing (introduced by Arabella)
– Excerpt from Kipling’s “Sussex” read by Martin Bruce
– “Sussex By The Sea” – communal singing led by Cllr Rebekah Gilbert (introduced by Arabella)
