This area of Sussex has a long and fascinating history in the production and harvesting of Hops. Hop Tokens were produced in Northiam from the late 18th century and hop growing flourished into the late 20th century. Come along and hear about the traditions and language of hop growing and picking in the villages around Rye. Perhaps you will be able to add to the story with your own experiences and memories of hop picking.
