In 1983/84 Isabel worked for a French architect in New York City running his office. For this Talk, she will rustle up the whole background story of the Statue, and bring it up to the time of her involvement in the entente cordiale Refurb in the early 1980s. She will use supporting documents and tell anecdotes of her climbing up rotting rungs, through the forearm and wrist, and out onto the tiny swaying platform parapet containing the flame.
