Giles is a Rye local who is fundraising for the NSPCC. In early 2024 he took a team to Everest to raise money for the charity. 11 made it to base camp. 4 made it to the summit. Everyone made it back. Giles and 6 of the team were survivors of childhood abuse at a prestigious independent school in Scotland. All of them went on the expedition as part-fundraising, part therapy. Mountains symbolise danger for most, whereas for Giles and these men and women, they are a place of safety, serenity and peace. Using spectacular film footage shot on location, Giles will take the audience on a journey from the colourful streets of Kathmandu, to the top of the world’s highest mountain.
If you have ever hankered for adventure, and would like to support a great cause, come and experience this trip.
All profits go to the NSPCC.
