This Exhibition is the result of five years research into the life and work of Derek Jarman by Jane Palm-Gold. The paintings, drawings and prints have emerged from this examination and are complimented by never seen before photographic works by Derek Ridgers, who captured Jarman burning books at Phoenix House and walking the land on the Fifth Continent. The exhibition draws its inspiration from Jarman’s diary entries, from his books Modern Nature and Smiling in Slow Motion and the accompanying exhibition narrative presents some of his life’s key moments, set against his environment within the landscape.
