Bayley Family

I trace my family tree back through the Bayleys of Rye in the 19thC who were mariners. I have quite a bit of info on the family but seek more. Can anybody help?

Go to www.ryemuseum.co.uk and click on Local History Research at right where you can access help. The Museum team has information on the Bayleys.

I have more modern information that would chart a branch of the family tree, but not of a direct ancestor of yours. My mother, Ellen Bayley, was a war bride who emigrated to Canada after WWII. My grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bayley of Wish Street in Rye. I also have some limited information of previous generations.

The Bayleys of Rye, particularly James and George Bayley operated a number of ships from Rye harbour in the C19th. James came from Winchelsea, born there in 1810. I am interested to hear from anyone who has a link or information about this family.
