I am researching my PhD on the commemoration of the Gulf War.
Could you please help me ascertain if there is a memorial to the 1990/1 conflict or those that died in it within or near your facility. It is registered as being in “St Mary the Virgin Church.”

Rachel Jones: There was one person who lived in Rye killed in the 1990 Gulf War. He is commemorated on the War Memorial in the churchyard.

I have been attempting to locate grave or memorials to those who dies during the 1990/1 Gulf War, in order to record them, photograph them, gather any relevant documentation, (such as newspaper cutting from the time of the dedication or funeral) in order to help me with my research.
I am contacting you to ask if there is anyone also to assist me as there is a Gulf War memory site in your area.
I would be very appreciative if someone could be found to assist me, by photographing the site, and then sending me any relevant paperwork or images. Costs would be reimbursed.
It is very difficult for me to travel to visit all the sites, and it would be very helpful if your society could help me.
