Join Rye’s own Town Crier, as he host Criers from across the country taking part in this spectacular event, being held in the Rye’s historic Gun Garden, immediately beside our 13th century Ypres castle.
Step into tradition on Saturday 11 October 2025 in the historic town of Rye, East Sussex, for the National Town Crier Championships!
11:00am – Town Hall
The day begins with a grand procession, led by the powerful rhythms of the Ryebellion Drummers.
11:30am – Gun Garden
Round 1 of the championships — precision, presence, and projection!
2:00pm
Think you’ve got what it takes? Step up and have a go!
2:30pm
Criers return for Round 2 — tradition on full display in full regalia.
