Rye (formerly Hastings) open national competition oyez!
Join Rye’s own Town Crier, as he host Criers from across the country taking part in this spectacular event, being held in the Rye’s historic Gun Garden, immediately beside our 13th century Ypres castle.
Judging will be based on volume, diction, clarity and inflection. Round one takes place from 10.30am – 12.30pm, hearing a ‘home cry’ from each participant. The competition continues in the afternoon, from 2pm – 4pm, with a themed cry; after which the results will be announced.
