Rye Harbour Herrings (as seen on TV in December with Mary Berry’s “Mary Makes Christmas”) is a group of local singers dedicated to preserving and strengthening the tradition of shanty singing. The group was started in 2019 by Martin Bruce who writes many of the songs that the group sings. The Herrings have their heart in Rye Harbour and celebrate local shanties as a speciality.
