Peter has campaigned for human rights and LGBT+ freedom for nearly 60 years. His inspirations include Gandhi, Sylvia Pankhurst and Martin Luther King. He was a defeated Labour candidate in the 1983 Bermondsey by-election – the dirtiest, most violent and homophobic election for a century. Peter attempted a citizen’s arrest on Robert Mugabe; was beaten by neo-Nazis in Moscow; ambushed Tony Blair in protest at the Iraq War; and was arrested when advocating LGBT+ rights at the Moscow 2018 and Qatar 2022 World Cups!
