Thinking of coming to Rye for a weekend soon. Does anyone know of a good reasonable B&B in town. May possibly come for new year with friends, but last year we found it a bit quiet, does anyone know of anything going on this year?

We have just returned to our Devon home after having spent a few days last week in and around Winchelsea. Anyone reading this and considering a short break in the area might like the B&B at which we stayed: Cleveland House. It is an exceptionally good B&B with a delightful host, comfortable, well furnished rooms, excellent breakfasts and what must be one of the best gardens in the area.
We enjoyed a trip on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway and had the weather been kinder – for it was very cold for May – we would’ve enjoyed more our visit to Pashley Manor Garden (to see the tulips) and a walk at Dungeness, that wonderful wilderness.
Rye, it goes without saying, is great!
