Rye in East Sussex Town Guide

Hartshorne History

I visited Rye a few weeks ago and was interested to see an old house somewhere in the centre of the town called Hartshorne House. As I am researching my family name of Hartshorne, I would be interested to know anything you can tell me of it’s history.

I have a family history that includes Hartshorne.
My Great Grandfather Jabez Allies Married Cathrine Hartshorne 1780
Their Son was named William Hartshorne in 1824 My grandfather also used the name William Hartshorne Allies.

I can suply the full history if you wish.
