Rye’s annual Mayor Making and ‘Throwing of the Hot Pennies’ will take place on Monday 4th May 2026. Gather outside the Town Hall from 12.15pm to enjoy the historic tradition of hot penny throwing!
You are also welcome to join the civic church service beforehand – where you must be seated in St Mary’s Church by 11:30am.
